Sorry for the technical difficulties… ugh!
Hey! Bet you thought I gave up on this whole blog thing. Not exactly… I just haven’t had the time. But here I am! So, you know how some people send out Chistmas cards listing the events of their year. Well, here are ours and let’s just say they aren’t what you would put on a Christmas card.
Jan: Pretty normal start… Nothing eventful except Blaze turned three!
Feb: Blaze started school, I found out i was pregnant(surprise )
March: nausea, nausea, nausea
April: nausea, nausea, more nausea
May: our nanny went bye bye…we somehow pieced together a plan for day care for the kiddos. It was quite a stressful month.
June: new daycare, new germs, starting our “frequent flyer” program at the pediatrician office. I had placenta previa which brought worries about a c section and/or a very pre-term baby.
July: holy moly… More sickness. Tubes in Blaze’s ears
August: Back to school (full day)for Blaze. Placenta previa corrected itself! I think this was a pretty ok month although I am sure the kids were sick…as usual.
September: started new ( wonderful) therapy for Blaze
October: welcomed our newest little guy, Knox, a week early. I guess he decided he was running out of room for his-almost-9lb self in there!!
November: Adley turned two! More sick kids…of course… But a very good (giant)newborn with a healthy immune system. Then we got the call…that Knox may have Cystuc Fibrosis. Oh my Lord, I am sure my heart stopped beating. It was absolutely terrifying thinking my baby could have a life threatening disease. Went for test to determine if it was CF or if he would be a carrier. Test unsucessful. Have to go back…
December: Adley has officially become a master communicator and talks all the time…even using 3 and 4 word sentences! Yay!! She also got ear tubes. Then on 12/23 we got the best Christmas present we could ever ask for…finally confirmed Knox does not have CF!! Thank you God!
What a year of insanity… And did I mention Alan and I both worked full time? I have no idea how we did it or how all of this happened in just 365 days. Since it is the last day of the year I thought it would be a good time to reflect. Here are some parting thoughts for the year.
1) I need to buy stock in hand sanitizer because we are practically using it by the gallon.
2) Life with 3 kids is going to be ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. It already is and I haven’t even gone back to work yet. I think I know why God made me an organizer and planner…I wouldn’t survive if I wasn’t.
3) This year has proven to me in so many ways that God really, truly, absolutely, 100% knows what you need in your life, what you can handle and when to stop piling it on. I truly don’t know how I would make it if I didn’t believe this is the plan He has for me and my family. So often when I look at Knox I think of how wonderful he is ( he is an amazingly good baby) and it makes me certain beyond a doubt that God knows best. Knox is a living, breathing reminder that God is in control and he knows what He is doing!
So, in short this year has taught me things are going to happen as they are going to happen and you may not know why for a very long time ( and maybe not even in this life) but it is so important to just trust and learn to let go. I have the trust part down and and if I pray that 2015 will be the year I learn to let go.
God Bless! I wish I had written more this year and really hope to write more in 2015. We shall see.
